Testimonial from: Tom and Pat Hards, Davison, Michigan.                                                                   Received    04/30/07

Parents of “Skipper”

We wanted another Parakeet, but a friend of ours, who also loves birds, asked us to call her avian vet to find a Parakeet breeder. We don't like the idea of buying a bird from anyone other than a breeder, for obvious reasons. The vet, asked us, if we were totally committed to Parakeets. We answered, "Well we really like them, why?" He said, he had been working with several clients that have Parrotlets and they have really captured his heart and had recently acquired a male and was having a ball with him. So we were very impressed, that an avian vet would say that, so I started my research.

And that's how we discovered Casey's Birdcage. We emailed them to let them know we were interested in a baby blue male. Why blue?, well all the accents in our kitchen are blue, you surly wouldn't put a green or yellow one in a blue kitchen now, would you? They called us that very day to let us know, that they had a couple blue males that were just about old enough, to go to a good home.

Now you have to understand that Terry and Bruce don't run a bird breeding factory, they just do a brood at a time and really take an interest in each of these tiny little creatures, handling them and playing with them, so when we got "Skipper" he was very comfortable with being handled and eating out of our hand.

Before we left Terry with our new baby, she sat with us and explained Skippers diet and many of the things we might expect from his behavior, and gave us a "bag of goodies" including a bag of seed, pellets, and sprout seed, he had been eating, a play swing with little things he could chew and play with and a list of information, and a hand written 4x6 card with many of Skippers personality traits. Terry then made sure that she would be available by phone or by email to answer any questions that may come up in our care of Skipper. I guess, you could sum it all up by saying that we were, and continue to be, very pleased with choosing Casey's Bird Cage as our parrotlet breeder.
