A Little Bit About Bruce:
I was born in 1961 in a rural community in South West Michigan and was raised by my father, an ex Marine and self employed barber / part time farmer, and my mother, a full time housewife. By the age of four I was already helping my dad with the chores around the farm and learning the love of animals. By the age of eight I had my own group of animals to care for. They included pigs, which I bred and sold the offspring for money for additional feed. We had chickens, which laid eggs that I would gather for my mother to make our breakfast. Goats, which I had to milk for me, I had an early stomach ulcer which our Doctor recommended the use of goats milk. Cows which I raised for fun, profit, as well as for food. My wide assortment of pets while growing up included a Beagle dog (Tiny), a wild duck that was injured with a broken wing which we fixed and recovered just fine but decided to hang around our house on a permanent basis and even starting laying eggs! (Daffy), A German Shepard (Pal), and later a Doberman Pincher (Samson the Great). Let me not forget my little horse (Prince). All through my school days I worked on assorted farms either working the fields or on dairy farms milking twice daily at 3Am & 3Pm. In 1988 I married my loving wife and together we raised and bred Cocker Spaniels. Since then we have found what we were meant to do, breed and raise hand tamed Parrotlets. Once you get one on your finger or shoulder you wont be able to be without one. The rest is history other than the part about raising our children and now grandchildren, but that’s a whole other story.
