Parents of “Oliver”
I came across Casey’s Bird Cage when I wanted to adopt a
parrotlet with
personality and spunk - a bird that would fit into our lives and be a
family member. I had two lovebirds already and was eager to add to my flock.
Terry
was immediately available and ready to answer any of my questions. She was very
knowledgeable of the breed and I felt comfortable getting a bird from her.
I was going to get a little green male from her and I couldn’t be more
excited!! We set up a date to get him, at a local bird fair, and I began
counting down
the days.
The week I was to go pick up our little parrotlet, my two lovebirds died
suddenly in a terrible accident. I was devastated and didn’t know if I
could bring another bird into my home so soon, I didn’t think it would be fair.
After a lot of soul searching I decided to still get my little p’let and I
have never regretted that decision.
Oliver came home a little green fluff ball, 7 weeks old. I loved him from
the start and he was so fun to watch. I got a full care package from Terry
filled with tons of information, some treats and a toy and some sprouts to get
me
going. I got Oliver’s hatch certificate and he was also banded, which was
important to me. Oliver was so fun to watch once we got home - he ate
ANYTHING and was so outgoing. He stepped up for anyone and was the cutest thing
I
had ever seen. He loved to sunbathe and preen, he played with his toys and
explored the new world around him. I started taking pictures of him that day and
still haven’t stopped!!
Oliver will be nearly 6 months old this August. He is going through his
first molt right now and looks a little disheveled, but still adorable. He is
still full of personality, loves to eat anything in front of him and adores his
preening toys. He is a shredder too and we have many toys that accommodate
that! I am so happy I found Casey’s Bird Cage and got to know the joy of a
parrotlet in my life. I couldn’t imagine not having Olly around, he is our
little
green machine!!
Thank you so much Terry & Bruce for raising such wonderful babies!! Oliver
makes me smile every day, we need more bird lovers out there like you -
keep it up!!
